Golf Day Approaching!

Our talented and hard-working golf committee met again last week as we complete last minute tasks and get ready for the National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic.
We'll tee it up next Monday, June 28, at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club--and there's still room and time for you to join us. The shot gun start is set for 12 noon on the Arthur Hills-designed private course.
We can promise a great day on the links with a terrific group of people supporting the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan and the fight against chronic kidney disease.

WXYZ-TV PSA Supports Golf Classic!

Once again this year, WXYZ-TV is supporting my involvement as chairperson of the NKFM Golf Classic. The creative services department has produced a :20 Public Service Announcement that will air in rotation up until our charity golf day on Monday, June 28, 2010. Hope you'll make plans to join us!

PSA Shoot for NKFM Golf Classic

On a beautiful spring day at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club, we shot the Public Service Announcement for this year's NKFM Golf Classic. Mike Thomas from WXYZ-TV's creative services department coordianted the shoot (and took these photos). Andrezej Milosz was the videographer with assistance from stage hand Mike Gary. The PSA will begin running soon in support of our golf event on Monday, June 28.

Peter Brown: 2010 Honorary Chairperson

We are thrilled to have Mr. Peter Brown, publisher of Automotive News, serve as the Honorary Chairperson for our 2010 NKFM Golf Classic on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club. Peter will spend the day with us and also make some remarks during our awards dinner and auction following the event. It's going to be a great day! Plan to join us!

Peter Brown became publisher of Automotive News in January 2010. He had been associate publisher and editorial director since 1992. He continues to lead the expanding Automotive News Group to dramatic growth and greater global prominence.

Mr. Brown oversees more than 65 automotive reporters and editors around the world, from Detroit to Paris, Brussels, Munich, Tokyo and Beijing. In addition to his editorial responsibilities, he also leads the sales, marketing and circulation departments.

The Automotive News Group is the world's largest source of industry news, analysis and data for automotive executives. Mr. Brown joined Detroit-based Automotive News as editor in 1989 after serving 4 1/2 years as the founding editor of its sister publication, Crain's Detroit Business. Mr. Brown joined Crain Communications from the Detroit Free Press. He was elected a vice president of Crain Communications in 1994.

He earned a B.A. in politics and government from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1970 and an M.A. in theater from the University of Michigan in 1974.

Fun Fundraiser For NKFM Golf Classic!

Goodnite Gracies in Royal Oak was packed for the "Who's Your Bartender" fundraiser for the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
Golf committee members Laura Beckeman and Kelly Berghoff organized the event--and what a success! Thanks to all who attended and donated to help the cause!

Oakhurst Team at Pebble Beach!

Our terrific foursome, representing the NKFM Golf Classic held at Oakhurst Golf & Country Club, took part in the National Kidney Foundation National Championship at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links.
